SY INDO SIREN ITINERARIO

10 nights Komodo dive trip map itinerary

Komodo: Maggio - Novembre, 10 notte di crociera
Just a short flight from Bali, the S/Y Indo Siren's first stop on this 10 night diving adventure, is the muck dive spot of the "Unusual Suspects", in Bima Bay. We spend the night here before sailing on to Sangeang Island with its dark volcanic sand or Gili Banta. By the third day we are diving within the Komodo National Park in the areas of Gilli Lawa Laut and Batu Bolong where strong currents can be experienced, bringing with them grey reef and white tip sharks and schools of snappers and fusiliers. SY Siren stops at either Rinca or Komodo islands to make a walk with the dragons before cruising southwards to Nusa Kode where in the shelter of Horseshoe Bay are numerous dive sites including Cannibal Rock, Torpedo Alley and Yellow Wall. Across the strait on the south of Komodo Island we spend the day dive the aptly named Manta Alley before returning northwards once again to dive sites that were not visited during the southward journey. Our final day is spent in Bima Bay, where the calm waters offer the perfect spot for some kayaking or water skiing.

10 nights Raja Ampat dive trip map itinerary

Raja Ampat: November - June, 10 night trip
Departing from Sorong the SY Indo Siren cruises southwards towards Misool, stopping for "muck" dives on the dark sand slopes of Batanta where its critters galore! We then spent up to 3 days dive a variety of sites in the Misool area for their stunning corals, including Boo Windows and Gorgonian Passage where sea fans dominate the scenery. Heading back northwards we dive around Fam Penemu & Yangeffo islands. Here we find the site of Citrus Ridge, where carpets of brightly colored soft corals can be found close to the surface which, illuminated by natural sunlight, make this dive site spectacularly beautiful. There is time for snorkeling in the mangroves and a visit to tiny Airborek Island along with a dusk dive at the pier before heading on to Mansuar for some manta ray action at Manta Sandy. In the Dampier Strait there are the fish and lots of them, in more shapes and sizes than anywhere else in the world. Not only are there numerous species, but all the levels of the food chain are well represented – from pygmy seahorses to larger pelagics. The most famous sites include Cape Kri and Sardine where speedy drifts can be expected. The reefs in Raja Ampat just buzz with life! Manta rays, wobbegong sharks and epaulette sharks can all be found in the waters of the Four Kings.

14 nights Banda Sea dive trip map itinerary

Banda Sea: October & May, 14 night trip
Departing from Maumere, the first stop on this SY Indo Siren diving safari is Adonara Island where we pass through the narrow channel to dive the southern sites of the Lesser Sunda Islands. We travel northwards through the Pantar Strait to Pulau Pura before heading into the Banda Sea and to the island of Gungung Api, known for its abundance of sea snakes and excellent fish life. Lucipara atolls are a fantastic place for large pelagic encounters and we spend 1 day here before cruising onwards to Banda Neira and Pulau Koon. Our final diving days are spent in the Raja Ampat region around Misool and the Fiabacet Islands. Disembarkation on day 15 in Sorong.

Banda Sea: October & May, 10 night trip
Departing from Sorong our first stop on this 10 night diving adventure are the sites of Waigeo- where manta rays are commonly seen coming in to be cleaned. SY Indo Siren then moves onwards to dive Misool and the Fiabacet Islands, known for their fantastic and diverse corals that attract a wide assortment of marine life. Departing the Raja Ampat region we pass through the rich channel of Koon Island and into the Banda Sea. Dive at Banda Neira and Pula Nusa Laut before our final day spent in the harbor of Ambon. Disembark at Laha airport on day 11. Ask for the 6, 7, 10, 14 nights Indonesia dive trip itineraries

10 nights Palau itinerary

Palau Islands, departing Koror: Year round, 6, 7 or 10 night trip
The SY Palau Siren will spend 6 to 10 days diving a selection of sites including German Channel, New Drop Off, Ulong Channel and Blue Corner. Aboard the Palau Siren we have 2 dive tenders and can split groups depending on experience level and site preference. Dives are led by our 3 western instructors and groups are typically no more than 6:1, though you may prefer to dive just with your buddy. Many of the channels have strong currents and reef hooks are an essential piece of diving equipment, however diving in Palau is suitable for all levels of experience. In Malakal Harbour we dive the Iro Maru wreck and Chandelier Cave. Whilst at Ulong divers can expect a speedy drift along the reefs with schools of snappers and trevally at dive sites such as Ulong Channel and Siaes Corner. Divers can enjoy the spectacle of spawning bumphead parrotfish and grey reef sharks are known to breed here with many juveniles often be spotted amongst the groups. Schools of grey reef and white tip sharks congregate at Blue Holes and Blue Corner. German Channel is the place for manta ray action at the cleaning stations. Several mantas may be seen here as divers rest on the bottom to watch the display or swim in the shallows as the mantas approach. At Peleliu Island schools of snapper congregate to spawn near "the Cut" meanwhile lucky divers may meet bull sharks, silver tips and black tip reef sharks. During our 10-night liveaboard trips we also offer the opportunity to visit the furthermost island dive sites to the north at Badeldaob Island, however this will be based on conditions at the time of trip departure. SY PHILIPPINE SIREN ITINERARIO

Southern Visayas, departing Mactan or Moalboal: Year round, 6, 7 or 10 night trip
The Visayas region is home to some of the best diving in the Philippines, with its nutrient rich water supporting a variety of eco-systems & a wide diversity of marine life. Sites range from steep coral covered walls to gentle sloping reefs and muck diving hotspots. During the tour we visit and dive the islands of Cebu, Cabilao, Panglao, Balicasag and Pescador. Along with Apo Island marine sanctuary and critter hot spot Dauin.
12 nights Philippines-Southern Visayas dive trip map itineraryDeparting from Cebu the SY Philippine Siren cruises southwards to the first stop at Cabilao Island, where steep reef walls are covered with sea fans, corals and sponges. Pygmy seahorses and frogfish are common sightings. Moving on to Balicasag we dive a variety of sites around the tiny island to see turtles and schools of jacks as well as barracuda and snapper. The dark sand slopes of Dauin are the place to find a myriad of tiny odd shaped bottom dwellers from robust ghost pipefish to pipehorses, waspfish and skeleton shrimps. Apo Island is a testament to the success of the marine sanctuaries in the Philippines and the pristine corals abound with numerous fish species including redtooth trigger fish, pyramid butterfly fish and blue lined fusileers. Friendly turtles approach divers and at least 8 species of anemone fish can be found here. Moalboal and tiny Pescador Island are the next destination. Schools of sardines are known to pass through with the occasional hungry thresher shark in their wake. Whale sharks are frequently seen in the channel. Smaller creatures including a wide range of nudibranchs, shrimps and crabs can be found on each reef during every dive. The calm seas and diversity of marine life make the Visayas an ideal diving destination for all experience levels.

Southern Visayas, departing Mactan or Malapascua: Year round, 10 or 12 night trip
Combine all the favourites from the Southern Visayas itinerary with a 2 day extension in Malapascua Island for thresher sharks, wrecks and more! 10 or 12 night trips start in Mactan and culminate in Malapascua or viceversa.

10 nights Philippines-Batangas Coror dive trip map itinerary

Batangas-Coron, visiting Anilao, Apo and Coron: November to February, 10 night trip
Apo Reef, a UNESCO world heritage site, is considered by many to be among the best diving in the Philippines. The Japanese World War II wrecks around Busuanga Island, particularly in Coron Bay, have been one of Philippine diving's best kept secrets whilst Anilao is well known for its numerous smaller creatures including blue-ringed octopus and Sargassum frogfish. The dive sites throughout our 10-night itinerary consist of wrecks from World War II, covered with soft and hard corals and home to schooling fish, a fresh water lake, steep reef walls and gentle sandy slopes and coral gardens; for a truly varied dive vacation. Just a few hours south of Manila, lies the World renown muck diving area of Anilao. It is here that many new species, particularly nudibranchs, have been discovered. There are numerous dive sites to explore including Secret Bay, Twin Rocks and Kirby's Rock where xeno crabs, seahorses, mimic octopus and many more odd looking critters can be seen. After 2-3 days diving in Anilao the S/Y Philippine Siren cruises southwards to Apo Reef, the second largest of the World's continuous reef systems. 33Km from the coast of Mindoro Occidental the reef teems with life. Rocky walls with huge seafans and barrel sponges attract schooling snappers & white tip reef sharks. Manta rays and eagle rays are also known visitors to the reefs for cleaning. To the far north of Palawan lies the Calamian group of islands, to which Busuanga and Coron are a part. During the Battle of Coron Bay in 1944, 24 ships of the Japanese supply fleet were sunk including the armed Arkitsushima and the oil tanker Olympia Maru. Up to 12 wrecks are within recreational diving depths and we spend up to 3 days diving the bay along with dives in the north part of the island for the chance to see dugongs and a trip to the inland Barracuda Lake - a freshwater site offering great visibility within the cave systems and some interesting thermoclines. Trips start in either Coron and culminate in Batangas or vice versa. A one-way domestic flight is required.

10 nights Philippines-Malapascua Donsol dive trip map itinerary

Malapascua and Donsol: November to December, 10 night trip
Different shark species will be the order of the day as the S/YPhilippine Siren cruises between Malapascua Island, on the northern tip of Cebu and Donsol in the Bicol region. Encounters with thresher sharks, black tip reef sharks and whale sharks can all be expected during this 10-night trip. Many of the islands and reef located in this section of the Visayan Sea have seen few divers due to a lack of dive operators in the region. However there sre sites with pristine corals and schools of fish waiting to be explored in depth. Whilst at Ticao we can expect to see manta rays and macro. Departing from Malapascua the S/Y Philippine Siren crew welcome their guests aboard to spend the first 2-3 days of the trip diving Monad Shoal, Gato Island and the Dona Marilon wreck. A mix of macro critters including sea horses and ghostpipefish are commonly seen, but its the change to seee thresher sharks and manta rays that have our guests repeating dives at Monad Shoal. Moving northwards we then encounter Maripipi, Santo Nino and Almagro Islands where topography ranges from dark volcanic sand to steep reef walls laden with sea fans and sponges. Marine life found here includes long nose hawkfish, white tip reef sharks and blue spotted sting rays. Dives at the Naranyan and Capul Pass follow. Here divers can expect some current as the tides move in through the channels from the Pacific Ocean, which can bring forth pelagics such as grey reef sharks and wahoo. Reaching Ticao we dive the "Manta Bowl" to spot these gentle giants drawn here by the plankton blook from the San Bernadino Pass. Thresher sharks and the occasional hammerhead have also been spotted here. The island has a range of sites, some where currents can be expected to bring schools of fish, whilst there are plenty of "relaxed" dives where schools of bannerfish, triggerfish, butterflyfish and fusiliers literally engulf divers. Our trip culminates in Donsol, where numerous whale sharks can be seen in the shallow waters of the bay. Only snorkelling is permitted but this provides a better interaction all round. This trip involves some long distance travel with some 120 nautical miles covered. Your cruise director will schedule up to 30 dives and a snorkelling excursion though this will be dependent on the conditions during your cruise. Trips also operate in reverse, departing from Donsol and culminating in Malapascua.

6 nights Philippines-Southern Leyte dive trip map itinerary

Dive Southern Leyte and Sogod Bay, departing Cebu: March to May - 7 or 6 night trip
Sogod Bay is world famous for sightings of whale sharks. These enormous filter feeders arrive here each year to feast on the swarms of plankton that bloom in the warm shallow waters. The area is perfect for both scuba diving and snorkelling but its not just the whale sharks that people come to see. The coral reefs around the bays of southern Leyte & Limasawa Island provide havens for numerous fish species and a whole host of weird and wonderful creatures. The S/Y Philippine Siren liveaboard yacht departs from Mactan, Cebu to spend 6 days within the Sogod Bay area. Working closely with the local municipalities, who act as "spotters", our dinghies position themselves ahead of the shark so that you may enter the water and are able to watch as it approaches, keeping well away from the head and tail of the shark. The yacht will move to the best areas dependent on the most frequent sightings. The small area of Sunok Bay and the coral slopes of San Ricardo are typically visited and Limasawa Island also sees much whaleshark activity with up to 5 seen in the bay at one time. Only snorkelling is allowed, however whale sharks may also be seen during the dives. Dive sites vary between steep reefs with soft corals, sponges & black corals to the critter dive hot spot of the Padre Burgos Pier, where seahorses, frogfish, pipefish and mandarin fish can all be seen. The Marine Sanctuary at Napantaw offers stunning soft corals and a great opportunity for over/under photography in the hard coral garden. The walls in Padre Burgos shelter numerous reef fish species, including grouper & sweetlips and within seafans pygmy seahorses are commonly spotted. Occasional visitors to the reefs are eagle rays, meanwhile research is on going to find the manta ray cleaning station that has been reported by local fishermen.

13 nights Philippines-Tubbataha dive trip map itinerary

Tubbataha Reef National Marine Park, departing Puerto Princessa: February to June, 6 nights trip
Inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1993, in recognition of its outstanding universal value in terms of marine life species diversity and richness, Tubbataha Reef offers some truly amazing diving, only accesible by liveaboard. These reefs consist of vertical walls or near drop off's rising out of great depths where hammerheads, thresher sharks and whale sharks can be seen. The shallow reef tops are teeming with colourful reef fish whilst at many dive sites stingrays, spiny lobsters, immature manta rays and turtles are found. 150km South East of Puerto Princessa, on Palawan Island, the Tubbataha reef system consists chiefly of two atolls (North and South) and the Jessie Beazley reefs. After an overnight cruise of approximately 14 hours we arrive at the Tubbataha Reef system to enjoy up to 4 dives per day over the course of our 6-night trip. The delicate reef system supports over 600 different fish species and over 300 coral species, whilst providing a haven for nesting hawksbill and green turtles along with numerous birds. A field station on the North atoll is manned by rangers year-round, during our trips we visit with the rangers to learn more about conservation and reef protection. Dive sites include Washing Machine, where many shark species can be sighted in the speedy current, the Delsan Wreck - now home to a plethora of reef fish and white tip reeef sharks as well as Amos' Rock. Seafan Alley is where huge sea fans adorn the reef walls whilst Staghorn Point boasts fields of staghorn corals. Divers can expect to see stunning corals, schools of jacks, numerous reef sharks, marble rays, blue spotted sting rays, turtles, unicorn and triggerfishes in schools. There are a wide variety of smaller creatures from sea cucumbers to coral crabs, ghost pipefish to sea stars, crinoids with cling fish and pygmy seahorses. After our final dive on day 6, the yacht will make the cruise back to Puerto Princesa where the trip will culminate.

Tubbataha Reef, departing Puerto Princessa or Cebu: February to June, 13 nights trip
The SY Philippine Siren also offers extended 13 night trips, which combine 5-6 days of diving at the Tubbataha reefs with the highlights of diving the Southern Visayas. These trips depart from Puerto Princessa or Cebu. Ask for the 6, 7, 10, 12 or 13 nights Philippines dive trip itineraries.

The majority of the 61 sunken ships and aircraft from the Japanese fleet lie well within recreational limits and experienced divers will find plenty of sites to choose from during the course of our liveaboard safari.

SY TRUK SIREN ITINERARIO

10 nights Truck Lagoon dive trip map itinerary

Truck Lagoon, departing from Weno: Year round, 7 or 10 nights trip
7-night or 10-night itineraries allow divers to explore not only many of the famous wrecks but to experience some superb reef diving also. There are numerous channels that cut through the reef which serve as hunting grounds for reef sharks and schooling pelagics which all add to the wonder of diving Truk. Departing from Weno, our 7-night and 10-night liveaboard dive trips on the SY Truk Siren take you directly to the main concentration of wrecks lying within the bay. The SY Truk Siren will moor over the deeper wrecks allowing for our divers to descend easiy down the line directly to the wreckage. Tec divers will benefit from the support of the "mothership", whilst our 2 dinghies are able to shuttle less experienced divers to the shallower sites and offer reef diving as an alternative to the wrecks. Many of the wrecks are "Maru" or merchant vessels that had been left at anchor, some had been fortified with anti-aircraft weapons and many carried important army supplies including Zero Fighter aircraft parts, tanks, torpedo shells, trucks and road supplies. Bottles, cooking utensils, items from everyday life and personal artifacts can be found in several of the wrecks, serving as a reminder to the visiting divers of those who lost their lives during the battle. The more gruesome reminders of the conflict, such as human skulls, have since been removed and may now only be seldom seen in the deeper reaches of the wreck-ages.
