1. WHY MISOOL ECO RESORT
Misool Eco Resort is a truly exclusive dive resort with a maximum capacity of just 40 guests and a staff-to-guest ratio of 4 to 1, which proudly can appeal the category of Eco Resort and Conservative Center. The island resort, Batbitim, is surrounded by 1220 sq km No-Take Zone established in 2005 and 165 km far from the nearest port. Because its extremely remote location, Misool Eco Resort is able to offer the variety and quality of live-aboard diving combined with all the comforts of a land-based holiday resort. At the present have been explored over 60 dive-sites within a 1-hour radius of the resort, and mapped over 25 world-class dive sites within a 15-minute radius of the resort including Fiabacet, Boo, Yilliet, Wobbegong City and Magic Mountain where you can expect to dive a diverse selection of sites, including a busy manta cleaning station, coral covered walls, reef flats, gentle sea mounts, drift dives, vast hard-coral gardens, placid lagoons, and current-raked pinnacles.

With tangible results, in 2010 a milestone in environmentalism in Indonesia: the local government declares Raja Ampat as Shark and Manta Sanctuary after a successful petition of Misool Eco Resort and Shark Savers.
2. ACCOMMODATIONS & FACILITIES
All the infrastructure of Misool Eco Resort was built entirely of reclaimed tropical hardwoods, milled on site with their own portable sawmill. All the accommodations have been meticulously designed for comfort, privacy, sustainability and feature Balinese-style open air bathrooms, air-conditioning, fresh hot and cold showers, mini-bars, in-room safes, and handcrafted furniture and fittings.
There are 8 luxurious water cottages located in the north lagoon and built on stilts over the water. Every water cottage has an original hammock built right into the veranda just above the sea water. The view from the veranda is framed by a traditional grass roof, offering a high degree of privacy as well as shade. Stairs lead down from your veranda to the North Lagoon.
There are also 9 deluxe villas for those seeking more space and seclusion. Villa Utara, Wakachom, and Nasnoos are especially recommend for families or groups of friends, features two bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, a shared common area with a half bath, a loft, and a massive veranda. These villas are located on the North Lagoon.
Villa Tabisasu is perfect for couples who appreciate a bit more space and features a bedroom with en-suite bathroom and conjoining living area, which faces east and enjoys glorious sunrise views. This villa is located on the eastern edge of the North Lagoon.
Villa Kalanme, Moro Lain and Waya Biru particularly recommended for those who enjoy greater privacy and gorgeous white-sand beaches, features separate bedroom with en-suite bathroom, with a shared round-roofed living area and huge outdoor living space. These villas are located on the secluded South Beach and the access is either by water taxi -on call and reachable by radio-, or by a scenic but steep paved path.

The restaurant is located on the astounding North Lagoon. The airy, round-roofed structured is tucked under the coconut palms, offering a perfect respite from the mid-day heat. The restaurant's terrace is the ideal place to enjoy a sunset cocktail or a bottle of wine while watching the baby sharks of the lagoon. Misool Eco Resort’s resto offers four meals per day, plus afternoon tea on the terrace, with freshly baked treats like lemon and cardamom biscotti or island-fresh banana fritters with chocolate. They also have a broad a range of Asian and Western cuisine, with a focus on fresh, local, and organic fare and an available selection of wine. Snacks and drinks are available throughout the day. 3. RESORT ACTIVITIES
Misool is famous for its world-class diving, but if you think that is just for divers, think again. The house reef will treat snorkelers to frequent sightings of schooling horse-eyed jacks, hunting octopus, and huge schools of bumphead parrotfish. The North Lagoon is a great place to hob-nob with gentle green turtles feeding on seagrass. You’re also likely to run into baby black tip reef sharks in the shallows.
The house reef of Misool Eco Resort is a shore dive, easily accessed at any time from either the end of the jetty, from the dive centre, or the steps leading down from your water cottage and it is particularly well suited to photographers and those who enjoy observing unusual animal behavior. Some of 'guests' currently hosted by our resort's house reef are massive schools of fusiliers and horse-eyed jacks, huge shoals of anchovies, large groupers, black tip reef sharks, grey reef shark, mandarin fish, flasher wrasse, and innumerable species of nudibranchs and flatworms, as well. The nighthawk Epaulette -new discovering 'walking shark'-, is commonly seen on night dives on the house reef of Misool Eco Resort.
On the other hand the dive sites around Misool Eco Resort can offer untouched reefs festooned with massive gorgonian sea fans, wildly colorful soft corals and expansive hard coral gardens, plentiful of rich reef life because is established on a vast No-Take Zone where all fishing, cyanide fishing, bombing, shark finning, harvesting of turtle eggs and shellfish are prohibited.
Raja Ampat is an incredibly rich place to explore, both below and above the water. We offer a number of different experiences designed to bring you closer to Raja Ampat's flora, fauna, and history: kayaking and SUP experience, birding cruise, sunset experience, lagoon experience, etc.
4. RESORT PACKAGES
Misool private island resort is located a four-hour speed boat ride south west from Sorong in Raja Ampat, Indonesia. Due to our remote location and the time our guests invest in travelling to the island, at the moment we only offer stays for the duration of 7 nights, 9 nights, and 12 nights. These trips are pre-scheduled for each season and the dates in which these trips start and finish are the only dates in which we have our transfer boat scheduled to depart and return to Sorong. Guests wishing to stay for a longer period of time are welcome to pair two or more trips in succession, staying in the same villa or changing the villa each trip date.
All our 7, 9, or 12 night packages are full board and include: accommodations, four meals per day + afternoon tea time, most non-alcoholic beverages, a series of evening educational lectures in The Hive, Sorong airport transfers and porter service, government tax -subject to change-, accommodations and breakfast in Sorong for one night following your stay at Misool on scheduled transfer dates.
5. HOW TO GET THERE
Misool Eco Resort is located in the archipelago of Raja Ampat in West Papua, divers usually enter this region by Sorong Airport in the Indonesian province of Papua Barat, which is connected by domestic flights to the main international hub of Indonesia: Jakarta, Bali, and Manado. We recommend all guests arrive the evening before the start of your stay at Misool. Our staff will meet you at the Sorong Airport and we'll take you to the harbor, with departure around 09:00. We’ll travel on our private speedboat, Merantau, from Sorong to Batbitim, our resort island. Merantau was custom built for us in 2018 and is equipped with 6 x 250 engines, indoor seating for 45 passengers, outdoor seating both fore and aft, toilet, and all safety equipment. The speedboat transfer is about 4 hours, depending upon sea conditions. We’ll cruise between sheer karst cliffs and innumerable small islands, often escorted by dolphins. About 30 minutes before we arrive at the resort, we’ll cross the border into our No-Take Zone.

6. BEST TIME TO TRAVEL
