*As you surely know, Halmahera is the largest island of Northern Moluccas or Maluku and is located in the heart of the Coral Triangle, its proximity to Raja Ampat had made of Halmahera a new and very hot destination for diving in Indonesia. Yes, Halmahera! It’s now the place where in each new scientific trips new specimens are discovered -as the Hemiscyllium Halmahera, new specie of Bamboo Walking Shark (Hemiscylliidae), cousin of the Hemiscyllium Galei from Cenderawasih Bay, West Papua- or where in each new survey trips world record fish counts are beaten ... Yes, apparently even more than Raja Ampat’s.
