1. WHY KRI ECO RESORT & SORIDO BAY RESORT

Pulau Kri or Kri Island is the place in Raja Ampat where all records for marine biodiversity have been broken, the first time in 2001 when Conservation International broke their records by counting 283 different species of fish during a single dive. That single dive added 80 species to the previous record of 203. Then in April 2012 another count by Conservation International recorded 374 different fish species. Today, healthy corals and profuse marine life are the main attractions of diving in this region of Raja Ampat.

Most of the staff now working at Kri Eco Resort and Sorido Bay Resort have been “rescued” from shark finning and dynamite fishing.

Kri Eco Resort is credited with using locally sourced, low-impact building materials, making the tropical climate more bearable and allowing its guests to enjoy the incredible views of Kri Island as well as gentle sea breezes. always present in the Raja Ampat islands.

4. RESORT PACKAGES

Both resorts offer packages of 7, 10, 14, 17 and 21 nights. Contact us to have a personalized quote.

5. HOW TO GET THERE

Kri Island is located in the Dampier Strait and is part of the Raja Ampat archipelago, West Papua. Divers usually enter the Raja Ampat region via the Sorong airport, connected to the international airports of Jakarta, Bali and Manado. Guests traveling to Raja Ampat will normally do an overnight transit before continuing their journey. We offer our costumers a complimentary transit night and airport transfers. On request we can arrange your domestic flights in Indonesia. Follow the link practical information: how to get to Raja Ampat.

6. BEST TIME TO TRAVEL

Diving and snorkelling conditions in the Dampier Strait are good all year round. High season runs from October to April, visibility tends to be influenced by high concentrations of plankton that guarantee pelagic encounters. From May to November there is more wind in the region, which can churn the sea on the surface but without interfering with diving, visibility tends to be better during this time of year. Being located so close to the equator, high humidity and tropical rains are occasional. Due to our sheltered position we are able to operate all year round. Follow the link practical information: diving season in Raja Ampat.
